Queen of the Ball Pin Up Contest
Contest Details:
Online submissions will begin on March 14th and run through April 14th. Photos and bios will be posted on our website. Voting will open April 15, 2025 and close on May 1st. Our team will choose 5 finalists and the remaining 5 spots will be chosen by online voting. The final 10 contestants will be announced on May 2nd. These 10 contestants will be invited to compete on stage at the 1940s Summer ball on June 14th.
Titles:
- Queen of the Ball
- 1st Runner Up
- 2nd Runner Up
The contest will be judged on the following:
- Authenticity of Outfit (including accessories and shoes).
- Authentic Hair and Makeup.
- Originality and Personality
- Overall Stage Presence
Rules:
Must be dressed in 1940s era-appropriate attire (re-productions are acceptable however authentic vintage is preferred and will be judged higher).
All are welcome, however out of state or longer distanced winners will be responsible for their own travel arrangements should they finish in the top 10.
Submitted photos must be of professional quality, either watermarked with photographer’s name or submitted with permission of photographer. All photos must be finished edited photographs that are no more than 1 year old.
Photos must be in the style of or showcasing authentic 1940s or 50s attire, and have an overall vintage feel.
The final contestants chosen in advance will receive complimentary admission to the event (for themselves only).
Prizes:
$500 Grand Prize for Queen of the Ball
Professional pin up photoshoot with NYC’s DCR Productions, who’ve photographed for Broadway and Ford Models for over 20 years!
All winners will be awarded:
Custom sash
Swag bag with 1940s Ball tickets, merch and sponsor gifts

Bree Anne Pappan (Vintage Treasures and fashion historian), Kimber Dempsey (Pin Up Model and mid century architecture historian), and Susan Reisser (fashion historian and vintage aficionado)
